Onto July with Dominican Trip Approaching

June 29, 2026

Only four games remain in the Kingsmen schedule in 2026 before the team leaves for their Dominican Republic mission trip.

So far this season, the team, made up of players from universities across the Eastern United States as well as from the Kingsmen Baseball Academy, has started the season well. Coach Hudak and his team are 9-2 entering the final month of the season. Those nine wins include wins over two teams from the Western Division of the Coastal Plain League. One more CPL matchup awaits the Kingsmen when they travel to Wilmington on Friday and take on the Sharks.

On July 9th, the Kingsmen will hop on the “big bird”, and head to La Romana, where they will spend a week and a half doing missionary work and playing games against local Dominican competition.

This trip always brings so much excitement, particularly for the Kingsmen’s skipper.

“I am really excited for the upcoming mission trip to the Dominican Republic,” Coach Hudak stated. “It is always the highlight of the summer for our players and coaches.”

This is Coach Hudak’s 20th trip that he has taken to the DR with his teams. Each trip creates his own memories, but this year has the potential to be special.

“This year will be a little different because all but two of our players have already been on one of our mission trips, either with the summer team or the Academy,” he continued. “It’s going to be cool to see them be able to reconnect with some of the kids in the Dominican Republic.”

Meanwhile, the second season of the Kingsmen Baseball Academy is less than 50 days away.

As of now, the Kingsmen are set to feature 34 players on the 2026-27 team, though the coaching staff is still recruiting additional talent. The roster currently consists of 18 returning players from last season, as well as 16 new recruits.

Players interested in joining the Kingsmen this fall should contact our recruiting coordinator, Preston Hudak, at (803) 524-5495.

We look forward to wrapping up our summer collegiate season strong, before turning eyes on year 2 of the KBA!
