July 19 – Lincoln Lawing

“I’ve served as the chaplain for Kingsmen baseball since 2020.

I’ve been coming to the Dominican Republic with Coach Hudak since 2012. Coming here has become a regular part of my summer. It’s always an encouraging time. I enjoy seeing these young men grow in their faith, serve the people here on the island, and share the gospel with the players and coaches we encounter. Year after year, the players and coaches make a huge impact while we are here.

However, the last few years have been different, in a good way. I’ve started to see our players step up and take ownership of their faith more. They are stepping out of their comfort zone to pray out loud in public, selflessly serve the people we meet here, lead Bible studies among their peers, and become leaders on their teams and campuses when they return to school in the fall. I’ve seen God save men on this trip on multiple occasions. I’ve seen men get baptized. I’ve seen lives change for the better. I’ve seen men who’ve joined us on this trip over the years go on to be spiritual leaders, godly husbands, godly fathers, and lights in a dark world. There’s no way to measure how big of an eternal impact has been made from these trips over the years. It’s too big to measure.

It’s rare for an organization to have fun, play great baseball, build character, and never drift from their core mission of sharing the gospel and making disciples. But Kingsmen baseball has continued to do that over the years. God has his hands all over this trip and this ministry. If you know Jesus, I sure hope you like hanging out with baseball players and people from the Dominican Republic. Because, thanks to God working through Kingsmen Baseball, heaven is going to be full of both.”
