SAN PEDRO de MACORIS, Dominican Republic — Despite a last-second venue change and a change of opponent, the Kingsmen powered to victory in their first game of the 2026 Dominican Republic trip, defeating Esperanza 10-6.
The Kingsmen never trailed in San Pedro, taking a second inning lead and never looking back. The closest Esperanza got to a comeback was a three-run deficit.
Ben France started the game, throwing four innings of good ball on the mound. Angel Rary and Tristan Harless followed him out of the bullpen.
Defensively, perhaps the highlight of the day sprouted from a lowlight. An Esperanza baserunner attempted to steal second, drawing a wild throw from the Kingsmen into centerfield. Caiden McNeil ran to retrieve it, while the runner attempted to take third base as well. McNeil gunned him down with an excellent throw to Riley Darby.
At the plate, the middle of the order carried the load as Josh Jackson and Brady Yarborough had multiple hits, among others.
Over the next two days, the Kingsmen will visit a Dominican church before getting back on the field. Boca de Chavon awaits the Kingsmen, with that game coming Monday.
Additionally, player blogs/testimonials will begin to be released in the coming days. They will be posted here on the website and on Instagram.
