York, SC – Kingsmen Baseball was victorious by a narrow margin tonight at York Comprehensive High School, defeating the Carolina Vipers 1-0. The game lasted only five innings as the remainder of the game was called off due to continuous rain and lightning in the area. With five innings complete, the game became official to put Kingsmen at a 13-6 SCBL record. The only run of the game came in the 1st inning with a wild pitch with the bases loaded allowed Anthony Mitta, who drew a walk during his plate appearance, to score. Both teams would manage just two hits each, and although the Kingsmen were able to draw five walks throughout the game, they were unable to get an additional run in. However, starter Chas DeBruhl once again put together an impressive performance on the mound, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out seven and completing the shutout. Johnny Sweeney reach base during all three of his plate appearances, posting a hit and two walks. Luke Jenkins recorded the other hit.

The Kingsmen will return to action tomorrow at Charlotte Latin School in Charlotte, North Carolina to take on the Carolina Vipers in a doubleheader starting at 5:00 PM.
