2nd Year Kingsmen Player

“This is my second summer playing with the Kingsmen, and the Lord truly does great work through this team. Something that I’ve noticed in my time in the DR is the amount of joy and hope that the Gospel brings. Whether it’s spending time with the kids at the orphanages or handing out Bibles after games, there is great joy in sharing the good news of Jesus.

The kids always have smiles on their faces when they spend time with us. Even though the kids speak a different language, they love just being in our presence.

The unifying power of the Gospel became evident to me at the girls’ orphanage. Preston Hudak shared with the girls how the Lord is a good Father, and that He sees them and knows them. Many of the girls I was sitting around kept saying “Amen” or saying the name of Jesus. Not only do they understand who Jesus is, they know Him personally. It was a reminder to me that each interaction we have here plants seeds of Truth that the Lord can cultivate and help grow.

The Lord’s character is on full display when the Kingsmen make this trip. It is clear to both our players and the people we interact with that God is creator, provider, protector, and a good Father. That is why the work that we do is so important. The more people that we meet and interact with, the more that God’s goodness can be displayed.”
