The lead changed back and forth eight times on Tuesday night at York Comprehensive High School, as they dropped a game to the second place Mooresville Spinners, 8-7.
The game was dead-locked at 7-7 heading into the top of the final frame. The Spinners would use two walks and a single hit to take the lead.
The Red and Blue loaded the bases up with two outs in the home half of the final inning, but a ground out to the short stop who flipped it to the second baseman ended the Prides threat.
Scottie Lee collected four Rbi’s on the night, going 2-for-4. Lee leads the Southern Collegiate Baseball League in the RBI category coming into the night, but now extends his lead with 24 runs driven in this summer.
The Pride used seven arms on the mound with John Bakke getting his fifth start. Kaleb Gibson, Quinton Pittman, Levi Parker, Ethan Martinez, Jason White, and JT Wolke would all see action in the back and forth affair.
With the loss, the Red and Blue move to 18-7 overall, still three games ahead of the Mooresville Spinners atop the SCBL standings. The Pride will get Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off before returning home on Saturday to York Comprehensive High School.
