“This is my third time being able to come here and I’m so thankful every time. This trip really puts everything into perspective and I’m so grateful to experience it.
Our first stop that we made on our trip was the girls’ orphanage. This is always one of the best highlights of the trip, and with this being my third year, I was able to see some of the girls that I have seen the past two years. One of the girls I first met when she was 12 and she’s now 14. It was really cool seeing how much she has grown up in just three years. The biggest thing I took away was that even though she had changed a lot, her attitude towards life hadn’t changed at all. Her and all the other girls there truly appreciate everything they have and I think it’s something that we all can learn from.
They make our days every time we can there and I’m glad we can make theirs too.
I’m really looking forward to the rest of the trip and what it holds for us. I’m really excited to be able to visit the boys orphanage and the daycare. I also can’t wait for the opportunity to play against the teams down here, and we get a chance to play against them tomorrow. I’m really thankful to be here again and get another chance to see it all. It’s really a life changing experience to see this and the way that God works through all of us to change their lives, but most importantly ours.”
