PRIDE BASEBALL 16U FALL TEAM OFF TO A GREAT START

Kingsmen Baseball has expanded its faith-based baseball ministry by adding a Kingsmen Baseball 16U team this fall. The addition was announced by Kingsmen Baseball founder Joe Hudak. The veteran baseball coach is excited by the expansion. “We have a goal to expand our ministry to include high school age travel teams that are faith-based,” Hudak stated.

Until this fall, Kingsmen Baseball has been exclusively a college age ministry. It has sponsored the Piedmont Pride for the past three summers as a member of Southern Collegiate Baseball League. The Piedmont Pride team has amassed a record of 96-28 over the past three years. They were regular season champions in 2015 and 2016, and league champions in 2017.

“The goal for all of our Pride teams is to be the best we can be on the field, and compete for championships,” Hudak continued. “It will be the same for our high school age teams. However, we also have a goal to help our players to grow in their faith.” The Pride teams have team Bible studies, go to church together, do community ministry, and go on mission trips. The 2017 16U team plans to take a mission trip to the Dominican Republic over Thanksgiving.

Hudak has great things to say about his 16U team. “I am having a blast coaching this group of guys,” he commented. “They are great kids who have a hunger to learn the game, but also have a genuine desire to learn more about what it really means to be a Christian.” Hudak said his goal for them is to understand that being a Christian is not a list of rules and regulations, but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Kingsmen Baseball 16U team is coached by Hudak and Matt Deegan. The members of the team are:

Andrew Alejandro

Anthony Alejandro

Weston Cregger

Braxton Elms

Kamryn Evans

Ty Good

Joel Haney

Max Necklen

Ashton Shannon

Dylan Smoak

Jordan Thurmond

The team is off to a great start. They have a 6-1-1 over their first two tournaments. They have three tournaments left.
