Kingsmen Baseball suffered its second loss of the season in a shootout that resulted in a 16-12 loss to the Forest City Owls in Forest City, North Carolina. The Kingsmen took an early lead with a run in the 1st, but Forest City was able to respond by scoring seven runs throughout the first three innings. After both teams put a run on the board in the 4th, the Kingsmen were able to keep the momentum going with a five-run 5th inning. However, the Owls were able to take back over, scoring a run in the bottom of the inning and putting together a seven-run 6th inning. Down by nine runs, the Kingsmen were able to put together a rally, scoring five runs in the 7th and getting the tying run on deck. However, Forest City would then record the final out to end the evening. Command proved to be an issue for the Kingsmen pitchers as ten walks proved to be costly throughout the game. Noah Borwege started the game and pitched the first 2.1 innings but collected the loss.
Tyler Kamerer went three for three at the plate with two RBIs, two runs, a walk, and a sacrifice fly. Davis Anders collected two doubles and scored two runs.
Kingsmen Baseball will return to action tomorrow at York Comprehensive High School against the Queen City Corndogs.
