FOREST CITY, N.C. — The Kingsmen battled back and forth Saturday night with the Forest City Owls, but in the end neither side was able to pull out the victory. The game ended 3 to 3 at McNair Field.
The Kingsmen jumped out to a quick lead, grabbing two runs in the second inning. They would struggle to score following the early production, leaving 12 runners on the base paths over the course of the seven inning contest.
Dalton Bisbano was on the mound for the visitors, giving up three runs while throwing just shy of four innings. He ran into a bit of trouble in the walk category, allowing three free passes. It was his shortest start of the season to date.
After being held off the scoreboard in three straight innings, the Kingsmen tied the game in the 6th. Hunter Carroll and Aidan Bisbano were strong in the bullpen, neither one gave up a run in their relief appearances.
Due to the game’s exhibition status, and the planned post-game fireworks show at McNair Field, the decision was made to end the game in seven innings.
Despite the tied result against one of the Coastal Plain League’s best, Coach Joe Hudak didn’t have the feeling of a successful night on the field.
“Quite honestly, it feels like a loss to me,” Hudak said. “Obviously it’s not, we did some good things…We did some things that were not so good, leaving runners on base, but that’s the game of baseball.”
With the result, the Kingsmen improved their unbeaten streak to five games. They’ll be back in action on Tuesday at York Comprehensive High School.
