Assistant Coach
3rd Year Kingsmen
“My name is Sam Blancato, and I am from Marietta, GA. I played two years for Kingsmen Baseball in the summers of 2020 and 2021. I went on my first trip to the Dominican Republic in 2021.
This past summer, I had the amazing opportunity to come back and be an Assistant Coach for Coach Hudak. I feel very blessed to be a part of an organization that works so hard to help cultivate servant leaders, knowledgeable baseball players, and most importantly, followers of Jesus.
My first trip to the DR in 2021 was a true life-changing experience for me. It was the first time I did any type of mission work. I remember we had just started building Kike’s house, and coming back to the progress that has been made was a full circle moment that I will forever cherish. My eyes were opened how to serve, pray, love, and glorify God. Having a group of young men rally around Jesus to serve Him while also getting to play baseball is a true testament to how good God really is.Coming back again this summer was such a blessing. Watching this group of men this summer get closer and closer each day while also learning about Jesus has been one of the best experiences of my life. I came back this summer with high hopes, and it was the best decision I have ever made.
The impact that the people of the Dominican Republic have on us is far greater an impact than we have on them. I am so grateful that I have been able to go the Dominican Republic two times. Rock Hill, South Carolina and the Dominican Republic will always hold a special place in my heart. These places have helped guide me through my walk with Christ while also helping me build friendships and play/coach the game I love so much.”
