“When I first learned about this trip to the Dominican Republic, PIl admit there was some doubt in the back of my mind. How much of an impact will this trip really make? Will the short interactions we have with the people we meet really make a difference?
Then, I met a girl at the orphanage who displayed true joy when I handed her a Bible. With a smile on her face, she showed me her favorite Bible verse.
Then I met a man while passing out food bags in a sugarcane village who had been through a divorce. I asked him what brought him joy in his life and his answer was his kids. I saw tears in his eyes as l explained that God is the provider who brings joy and peace to those who seek him.
I’ve seen the lives that have been changed through previous trips the Kingsmen have made. Pastors who are able to reach more people through gifts that we provide through the Lord. Kids who claim Jesus as their Savior because of the gospel being poured into them.
I have been reminded of all of the times that Jesus had encounters with people in the Bible that completely transformed them. I now firmly believe that just one interaction with Jesus can change a life for eternity.”
