“It has been an incredible experience to travel to the Dominican Republic to not only play baseball, but to support the people here in need. Today we had the opportunity to work on our good friend Kike’s house and travel to his hometown of Los Montones, a small sugar cane village in which the majority people are struggling greatly. During our visit, we got to paint the home of a local family whose home is falling apart and delivered bags of groceries to those in need. The smiles on everyone’s faces not only made me happy, but gave me a new perspective on life: to be grateful for what you have because you never know what someone else is experiencing. The positivity all throughout the Dominican Republic has been immensely positive, and I’m loving every second of it. My favorite moment on this trip has been visiting the orphanage and day care center to play with the kids. Overall, I’ve had an amazing experience with the Kingsmen this summer. I’m excited to see what the rest of the trip has in store.”
