1st Year Kingsmen Player
“I had high expectations for this summer, and the Kingsmen family has far exceeded them. Over the course of this summer, I have met a lot of great people. I can not express the level of gratitude that I have for each and every person involved. The Kingsmen family has helped me tremendously when it comes to growing in my faith. Along with the Jesus aspect, which is the most important part, the culture here is extremely fulfilling and unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have really enjoyed being around this group of like minded young men. In a few short months, I am certain that I have developed friendships that will last a lifetime, some of which I hope to speak at my wedding.
As cool as this experience has been for me personally, I can not express the joy that I have had watching Mason grow in his faith and in his walk with Jesus Christ. For those don’t know, Mason and I played against each other a lot growing up. Now we both play baseball at Lander University and we’re “lucky” enough to be roommates this past year. Being roommates, we grew closer just by seeing each other every day.At the end of the spring, by the grace of God, the Kingsmen were in need of a catcher, and Mason was in need of a place to play. That is God at work, no doubt about it. I was super excited that he would be joining us. I prayed that Mason would grow stronger in his faith and in his walk with the Lord, and it has been a pleasure to watch it happen right in front of my eyes. I love Mason like a brother, and I could never thank the Kingsmen enough for giving me a brother in Christ to go back to school with.
Deciding to play with the Kingsmen was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Not only have I grown as a baseball player, but I have grown as a man, and that to me is the most important part. I would like to thank everyone involved in this summer, including my host family (shoutout to the Padgett’s!), for the role they have played in my life this summer. I can’t wait to see what God has in store next!”
