2nd Year Kingsmen Player
“This trip will mark my third trip down to the DR with Kingsmen. I first went in the summer last year and also went in January with the academy team. I want to start off with when visited a village called Boca de Chavon to play a game against there team. Last year, they had a variety of players that filled their team that stretched from young kids to older guys that used to play in the pros. This year, we went against their best guys in that village and they had some ballers that came out, but our pitchers did what they do best and held ground while our offense went to work. I always like playing there because things like the makeshift foam bases and how’s there’s no fence all around the field give it a feeling of playing backyard baseball. I never felt so free playing at that field and I believe the guys felt that same feeling when we played there. The greatest part of the trip in my opinion though is when we went down to Kike’s, our translator, home village, Los Monotones. I missed last summer’s visit there, but was able to go during the academy season, and I’m blessed that I was able to go a second time. It touches my heart how everyone stepped up to pray for someone and give them a food bag we prepared for them. Going down to the DR with Kingsmen is a blessing and I couldn’t ask for any other way to spend my summer.”
