July 13 – Cannon Jackson

“This summer has been a great and fun experience. I came to play for the Kingsmen as a way to further my skills and continue to get better while coming off an injury, as well as further my development and connection with God. As the summer progressed and I continued to get to know my teammates, I found out that we have mutual friends and that I played against my teammates in the past. Just shows you how no matter how many people play baseball, the world of baseball is truly is a small world. I’ve had a great time with the team in Bible studies, meeting for pregame meals, and just overall a great summer of baseball with a winning record. Now that we’re in the DR and I’ve had a month with the boys it’s been a great time. This is my first time out of the country, and I was excited that it would be for baseball and to help share the word of God. It felt great to be able to go to those orphanages and see and feel such positive and happy energy from these kids even though they may not have been in the best situations. In America you can see kids in great situations and still complain and just give off negative energy. As we’re down here in the DR I look forward to helping more people and playing more baseball.”
