York, SC – Kingsmen Baseball bounced back after Friday’s season-opening loss with a 10-1 victory over the Mooresville Spinners at York Comprehensive High School. Kingsmen led early on with two runs in the 1st and pulled away further with four runs in the 3rd. After Mooresville got on the board with what would go on to be the only run for the Spinners, Anthony Mitta would open the lead back to six with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the inning. Chad DeBruhl, who relieved starter Julian Parson in the 4th, would shut Mooresville down with ten strikeouts and just one hit allowed in a dominant 5.0 innings. Kingsmen would put the game on ice with three insurance runs in the 8th before Justin Stewart closed things out with a scoreless 9th inning. DeBruhl was the winning pitcher. Johnny Sweeney led the Kingsmen lineup with two hits and also scored two runs and recorded an RBI. Kingsmen Baseball will return to action on the road tomorrow in Charlotte, North Carolina to take on the Carolina Vipers.
