Will Lozinak threw for 7.2 innings allowing only three earned runs and striking out seven as The Pride defeated the Charlotte Prospects, 9-4 on Thursday night. With the win The Pride move to 18-5 on the season, 2 games above the Charlotte Vipers for first place in the SCBL.
The Pride got on the board first in the top of the fourth when Abraham Mow struck out for the technical third out of the inning. The ball got past the catcher for a dropped 3rd strike and mow took off to first. The throw from the catcher sailed over the first basemans head and the runners on the base paths for The Pride score and Mow ended up on third.
The Pride would tack on two more in the top of the fifth with Jake Wright hitting his with his 4th double of the season and 21st RBI.
The Prospects would battle back to make in 5-4 scoring two runs in the bottom of the eighth to put the pressure on The Pride to get some insurance runs.
Insurance runs is what the Red and Blue got in the top of the ninth putting up four runs on 3 hits and two walks.
Nolan Wilson came in for the four out save out of the bullpen and did not allow a single run, keeping his ERA at an astonishing 0.00 for the summer.
The Pride will head to take on the Mooresville Spinners today in the friendly confounds of Moor Park.
