Traveling Kingsmen Drop Second Consecutive to Alaska Goldpanners

June 8, 2025

FAIRBANKS, Alaska — The Kingsmen dropped the middle game of a three-game series against the Alaska Goldpanners on Saturday, falling 6-1.

The Kingsmen struck first after Ethan Bonocore drove in a run on an RBI single in the first to give the Kingsmen a 1-0 lead. The Goldpanners answered back in the bottom half, evening the score at one apiece, where it remained until the fourth.

Alaska tallied most of its run total in the middle innings, cruising out to a big lead which they would hold for the rest of the ballgame. Starter Dalton Bisbano was called upon for 101 pitches, but the Goldpanners finally got the better of him late in his appearance.

Coach Joe Hudak was ejected from the contest in the fourth inning on Saturday. After a lengthy conversation with the base umpire in the first inning, following a close play at first base, Hudak came back out to challenge a decision by the home plate umpire and was promptly tossed. It is the first time Hudak has been ejected this summer. Assistant Coach Preston Hudak took over as acting manager for the remainder of the ballgame.

The Kingsmen return to action for the final game of their three-game set with the Goldpanners on Sunday, with the first pitch slated for 2pm local time.

NOTE: Head Coach Joe Hudak was unavailable for comments following Saturday’s game.
