I have learned a lot this summer and have had a blast. Coming into the summer I never knew that I would become a Christian but that changed and I became a Christian on July 19th. Playing the game that I love with the best people around me has been a lot of fun. Going to the Dominican Republic has really opened my eyes on a lot of things. I always would take things for granted and get mad over little things, but when I came down to the Dominican and saw some of the villages, it broke my heart because they do not have everything like we do in the United States. Going to the girls orphanage will always be my favorite memory of the summer because not only did they make nothing into something, but the way the girls smiled and danced and even though they didn’t have much, they made the best of it. I got my hair braided from the girls orphanage and played kickball and volleyball as well. Today, Saturday July 20th, we went to the Catalina island and went cliff jumping and snorkeling and even though it rained and was cloudy I still had fun. Overall, the trip has been inspirational and will always hold a place in my heart and I will think about all the families we gave food bags to and think about the entire experience for the rest of my life.
