Kingsmen Baseball improved its 2024 record to 2-0 with a 13-6 victory over the Queen City Corndogs at York Comprehensive High School. The Kingsmen were able to take a large lead in the early inning, scoring five runs in the 1st, three runs in the 3rd, and three additional runs in the 4th to take an 11-2 lead. After two scoreless innings, Queen City would get three runs on the board in the 7th while the Kingsmen responded with a run in the bottom of the inning. Each team would score one more run to cap off the scoring to end things with a seven-run victory by the Kingsmen. Justin Stewart made his 2024 debut, earning the win with 1.2 shutout innings with just one walk allowed while striking out five. Andrew Sands was solid at the plate, going three for five with the team’s only extra-base hit of the game in the form of a double.
The Kingsmen will return to action tomorrow in the first road game of the season against the Lexington Blowfish in Lexington, South Carolina.
