Kingsmen Baseball began the 2024 season with a walk-off win against the Uwharrie Wampus Cats this evening at York Comprehensive High School. Only one run scored in the first two innings, which was scored by the Kingsmen when Jesse Castillo recorded an RBI fielder’s choice. However, the middle innings told a different story as each team scored seven runs within innings three to five. Trailing by a run going into the bottom of the 7th, the Kingsmen loaded the bases before Troy Bachman drew a walk to bring in the winning run. Zane Davis was credited with the win. For the game, the Kingsmen posted a total of nine runs on thirteen hits and seven walks. Three of those hits came from Josh Watson while Aidan Bisbano posted two hits including a double and led the team with two RBis. Vince Santostefano hit a home run to begin his season.
Tomorrow, the Kingsmen will return to action at York Comprehensive High School against the Queen City Corndogs.
