2025 Alaska Trip in the Books

June 18, 2025

For the Kingsmen, the sun has set on Alaska in 2025.

After ten days in The Great Northwest, the Kingsmen arrived back home to Rock Hill to enjoy a couple days off of baseball. The trip was filled to the brim with activities and time on the field; players like catcher Mason Salisbury loved the uniqueness of the trip.

“Being able to travel across the county with like-minded people and the ability to hang out together outside of baseball, those were my favorite parts,” Salisbury said. “Blessed to be able to grow deeper together in our faith.”

While the results on the field were mixed, it can be said without a doubt that the team was able to grow closer together. That pays dividends both on and off the field.

“Having an opportunity to hang out with these men was a true blessing,” said outfielder Vince Santostefano. “Whether we were messing around by the campfire or playing games on the bus, it gave us a chance to grow together as a team, and make lifelong friendships with people that most of us would’ve otherwise never spoken to.”

Among the memories will be the sights and sounds of the 49th state that just aren’t around in everyday life. Whether that be a walk on the Matanuska Glacier, a moose in the team’s backyard, or the beautiful scenery painting the horizon, Alaska was truly breathtaking.

“Overall, Alaska was a great experience,” said Cannon Jackson. “It was fun to play in a state I had never been in with an always beautiful backdrop on each field.”

Now home, the boys get a chance to relax and recover before baseball resumes on Wednesday. Will things be the same? Probably not. This team is simply different than it was two weeks ago.

“This trip changes the season for the better because it forces you to bond with your teammates like you’d never expect,” Assistant Coach Nick Osborne said. “When that happens, relationships get stronger for everyone.”
