Today we heard from a Pastor and played games with the children at that church. We spent time playing musical chairs. Then, later we walked to their field and playing baseball with them. Baseball for the people here means so much more than it could ever mean to us and they have more fun. It is so freeing to see the smiles and the laughter this game brings them.
The Pastor talked about all that God has blessed him with: community, family and friends. Sometimes we overcomplicate what a blessing is. We have been given everything that we are from God because God is the creator and sustainer of all things. Everything is a blessing. Then he gave us some advice saying, “Whatever you do, if you do not have Jesus Christ at the center it is worthless.” This trip has been great to see how diverse the body of Christ is. I have been able to see how much joy the people here have and that joy is only found in Jesus Christ! That is the same type of joy I want to bring when I talk about Jesus. It has also been beautiful to see the Holy Spirit move through our team. So many of the guys here are seeing the love and mercy of Jesus!
