Joshua Hemphill

General Manager – Grand Canyon University

Joshua was born and raised in Fullerton, California where he attended Troy High School.

Joshua recently graduated from Grand Canyon University where he successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Sport Management. While at GCU, he has active served as the Undergraduate Assistant to the Grand Canyon Club Baseball Team.

Having spent the last two summers with the So Cal Catch of the California Collegiate League, Joshua remains excited to see how the Lord will continue to use this great opportunity to grow him both spiritually and professionally. From the Dominican Republic trip to this amazing intern team, Joshua remains additionally excited and dedicated to serving and furthering the Pride’s unique opportunity to impact lives for Christ both on and off the field.

Jerob Moon

Sports Information Director (Intern) – Grand Canyon University

Jerob is from Boise, Idaho and discovered the joy of sports at a young age. He played sports through high school and considered pursuing a career in sports broadcasting. He was blessed to have an internship at a local sports talk radio station and was the play-by-play voice of Nampa Christian High School during his senior year.

After graduating from high school in 2015, Jerob headed south to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, majoring in Communications. After his freshman year, he changed his major to Sports Management and is focusing on a career in college athletic departments, specifically in Sports Information. During his sophomore year, he volunteered with the GCU athletic communications department and worked with multiple GCU teams.

Jerob is excited for this internship with The Piedmont Pride and for the valuable experience he will gain. But most of all, he is excited for the opportunity to serve God and grow in his faith this summer.

Alexys Sovis

Game Operations (Intern) – Grand Canyon University

Alexys grew up in Albertville, Minnesota and attended St. Michael-Albertville High School. While in high school, she played basketball for four years and was manager of the cross-country team for four years.

After graduation, she chose to attend Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. she will be a sophomore there for the 2017-2018 school year. As a Sports Management major, she has had the opportunity to be a member of the GCU Sports Business Club. While at GCU, Alexys have seen her faith and love for sports grow stronger.

With this internship, Alexys hopes to gain valuable experience within the sports world and grow her faith even more. She is excited to work alongside all the other great interns and learn more about the sport of baseball.

Kaylee Goodell

Promotions Marketing (Intern) – Coastal Carolina University

 

Kaylee grew up in New Hampshire where she attended Monadnock Regional High School. Playing softball and field hockey she had also coached the JV field hockey team and worked with the athletic department there as well.

She is a senior currently attending Coastal Carolina University and majoring in Recreation Sports Management with a minor in Hospitality, Resort, Tourism Management. She works for the City of Myrtle Beach as a Sport Tourism Assistant and is also the Risk Manager of her sorority’s chapter, Sigma Sigma Sigma Zeta Chi.  After graduating, she hopes to work within a baseball organization.

Kaylee looks to strengthen her relationship with the Lord and grow spiritually over the course of the summer. Bringing together her love of baseball and of God she is excited for this opportunity.
